My Brother's Wedding

Last Sunday, was my brother's wedding day. The morning session was a tiring day for my brother and parents as my brother need to leave his house at 5am and to return home by 9.30am. He need to fetch his wife in JB.

In order to leave house on time, my brother woke up early to get ready. My parents help him to comb his hair to symbolise long life, good life.

He have 4 cars, 8 "Brothers" and my husband, the videoman, going to JB to fetch his bride. He and his "Brothers"were being "tortured" by doing push ups, pole dancing, drink a big bottle of coke, an unknown mixture of drink and bursting of balloons with flour inside. After going through all the obstacle, he got his bride.

When he was back home, they rest for a while before having a tea ceremony. At around 2 plus, they checked in to the hotel.

He held his wedding at Holiday Inn Atrium at Havelock Road. This hotel used to be Concorde and it is opposite my mum's place.

I was to help out the reception counter for his wedding and collecting "Ang Pows" of course. I was the richest person that night. LOL

His wedding reception began at 8.30pm. Everything goes well for the night. After the toasting, my brothers gave a little speech. Not sure if he was nervous or forgotten what he want to say, he keep repeating some of the things. At one point while thanking my mum, he got emotional as my mum really take good care of us despite she was sick herself. When my brother got emotional, myself and many others also feel emotional. So he ended his speech by saying that he dont want to got emotional further.

After that my brother are being ask questions on how much he know his wife. Some of the questions are funny that made most of us laugh. The trick of the game, is that no matter my brother answer correcly or not, he had to drink. My cousin, Gina, helped him to drink a glass of red wine. His "Brother", Guorong, helped him to drink 1 glass of hard liqour.

After the questions, they returned to the seats. After awhile, they went round the tables to take photos. When the banquet ended, my brother was drunk as some of his friends make him drunk and toast with him.

This was the first time i saw my brother so drunk. Have being siblings for 28 years and staying in the same house for 24 years, i never saw him drunk before. i believed that he was very happy that he got married and share the joy with his family, relatives and friends.

I was also happy for him too.

Friend's Wedding

I attended one of my polymate's wedding last night. He just returned from his business trip in US a week ago and yesterday was a BIG day from him. Hasnt seen him since my wedding in July 07. He looked thinner than before. I bet he didnt eat much Fast Food in US. LOL.

Reached the hotel at around 7.30pm and there are still alot of people have not arrived.
Invitation card says "Dinner commerces at 7.30pm sharp". Typical Singaporeans - Never punctual for a wedding reception.

Have a chat with my friends and of course the groom too. Seen the photos they took, nothing too fanciful. Still preferred my own photos. *satisfying look*

After 1hr and 15 mins of wait, the dinner finally started at 8.45pm. the newlyweds march in with a chinese song "Ai heng Jian Dan" by David Tao. Then, we were shown with the bride fetching video. My friend was quite generous on his ang pows for the "Jie Meis"

Liked the vintage car he used for the wedding. Really cool. After that, second march in and champagne pouring. the music used is the same as mine for the champagne pour - "Lover's Concerto" by Kelly Chen

This is really a nice song so many people used it in their wedding. Another thing i discovered too. She also used a crown and her gown is in Turquoise (Bluish- green). I also used a crown but mine is slightly bigger and one of my gown also in Turquoise colour. See Picture

I think the colour and crown is a "IN" thing.

Now back to the wedding reception again. The layout of the wedding reception is good. Service is ok but the dishes was brought in very slow for the first two dishes and in the end, they have to rush and we left at about 11pm. Faint. This is the part i dont like.

The food is ok, like the dessert -Red bean Paste with dumpling , the starter which includes lobster and the duck. Dont like shark's fin though.

On the whole the reception is ok.

Reached home at around 12am. Was so tiring. More weddings to attend for next month. I think this year is a good year to get married.

Wedding Preparation I

Last week, i am busy writing my invitation cards. Writing invitation card is the first phase of the whole wedding. (excludes taking wedding photos). As there are many cards to be sent out, i had preprint the address so that i can cut n paste on the envelope.

Before writing the invitation cards, i need to slot in the inserts to the card which is tiring process as you need to fold nicely so that it is into nice halves. Imagine it, having to slot in 265 pcs of inserts. Luckily i have my sister and mum to help out.

With the inserts ready, i start to write the cards but i didnt finish in one day but a few days as writing for a long time can be an aching process.

Nevertheless, i managed to finish in 3 days time and they are ready to be posted out last monday. Some of my friends have recieved them and they like the photos i put in together with the card.

Second phase of wedding preparation will be gown fitting for my wedding.

First Post of April

April first week... Monday. My wedding is just 3 months away. But i have not done any preparation yet. The one thing i had done is taking Wedding Shoot which i took in Jan 07. If you do visit my blog previously, you should had seen some of my unedited photos.

Right now, the photos are in 2nd draft of designing. Didnt like the layout. Too crowded and had ask the bridal studio to make the changes. Probably will get to view it next week.

Talking about my photos, i just got an surprise last friday. One of my friend who is getting married a day before me, has one of her gown the same as mine. What a Surprise!!! The gown was beautiful which i love at the first sight. That why i chosen the gown for my photoshooting.

My friend is using the gown for her lunch reception. When i told her that, she was also surprised so i show her the photo of the gown. It was proven that they are the SAME!!! Do take note our bridal studio are different and hers in Singapore and mine in Malaysia. Her designer even told her that she designed the gown. So how on earth there are indentical pieces??

If you are to ask me if i mind about this. If you are in my shoes.. how will you feel...???
